Shadow a Physician

First and second year medical students are invited to personally explore the various specialties of medicine and surgery through an opportunity to shadow a physician in that specialty.

Physician Hosts

If you are a physician who is willing and available to mentor a medical student, please let us know by emailing Nancy Bauer.

Medical Student Participants

If you would like to take advantage of this shadowing opportunity, please complete the short form below.  Once your information is received, an ABH staff member will connect with a physician in your requested specialty and confirm the shadowing experience.

*Only medical students currently enrolled at the University of Minnesota Medical School are eligible to participate in this shadowing opportunity. Additionally, all students must have their own reliable transportation to get to/from their shadow site.

The Shadow a Physician program is full for the remainder of 2022. Advocates for Better Health is pausing the program in 2023. Please check back for updates.
